Zoom out from street level in Echoes of the Moon and the surface visibly curves. Keep going and your real terrain, craters, colonies, and fog of war wrap onto a sphere until you are looking at the whole planet. Pan at full zoom-out and the globe rotates under you.
Everything important happens on that one world: choosing a landing site, running Orbital Command, launching satellites, founding a second colony on the far side. There is no separate "map screen" — there is just the Moon, at every scale.
It is the feature that took the most engineering and gets the quietest reaction, which is exactly how we like it. It should feel obvious, not impressive.
