Any reasonably modern computer with an up-to-date browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari). Because the whole game is canvas-based, there is nothing to install and no special hardware required.

That is up to you. Story mode is cozy and never fails you. Colony — the intended experience — lets disasters strike and makes neglect cost you. Hardcore turns the screws all the way. You pick your stakes when you start a new game.

A full arc — from your first dome to decoding the signal and opening the Gateway — is a satisfying sitting or two. There is also a post-win second act, The Waking, and optional challenges if you want to keep going.
