What wonder events should you watch for?

Random wonder events punctuate colony life — an Earthrise everyone stops to watch, a mineral-rich meteor shower, solar-flare auroras over the domes, and the occasional silent white UAP flyby that sets the whole colony buzzing (and nudges the mystery forward).

The hidden mechanic: does the Moon judge how you play?

Yes — and it's the best-kept secret in the game. Certain events force a build-or-strip choice: a fast, scarring windfall versus a gentler take that leaves the ground whole. The game silently tracks which you pick (call it Regard), and it quietly shapes how the Signal's caretaker judges you — and which ending you get. No number is ever shown. Play kind, or play greedy; the Moon is keeping count either way.

Watch for these dilemma events — each is a real fork with no obvious "right" answer:

• A Rich Vein — a dense Helium-3 and rare-metal seam under the ridge — strip it fast for a windfall, or work it gently and leave the seam whole.
• Something Under the Site — a deliberate lattice buried under your next building plot — break it out for the salvage, or move the plot and let the science team study it.
• The Crews Are Spent — your build crews are running on stims and grit — hold the pace to raise more now, or stand them down for a full sleep cycle and lose a day.
• A Seep in the Dark — liquid water weeping from a warm fault — pull it hard for a season of easy supply, or set a slow tap that may run for years.

Leaning gentle (and taking the Sustainable Habitats doctrine) nudges you toward the warmer ending.

Strange sightings as the Moon wakes

As you decode more of the Signal, the colony starts reporting things: soft lights on the ridge, instruments that turn on their own, a hum that rises. They're atmospheric teasers, gated behind how far the mystery has progressed — a sign you're getting close.

Other secrets worth trying

• Take direct control of a colonist. Click any colonist and walk them across the Moon with WASD — they reveal fog as they explore.
• Dark craters. Some craters sit in permanent shadow where solar is dead — only advanced power reaches inside. Light them up for a challenge.
• The far-side node. Post-Gateway, there's a lattice node waiting at the Moon's antipode. Wake it for a bonus Signal fragment and the "Far Shoulder" achievement.
• Build a colony in orbit. Research Lunar Flight, press O, and develop the orbital layer — hotels earn Earth tourist credits, shipyards found new colonies.
• The 11-second signal. Listen for it. Everything about the mystery keeps eleven-second time.
• New-game mutators. Start a fresh run with modifiers like Strong Signal (the Moon wakes sooner) or Iron Colony (lean supplies) for a different feel.
• Chronicle share-image. The journal writes your colony's story — export a share-image of the moment your city first lit up the dark.
